The pandemic caused increased evictions, record-high Black unemployment, and an increase in both poverty and living costs. That’s on top of the overcrowded hospitals, lasting health impacts, and over 5 million global deaths.

But it wasn’t bad for everyone – a few white men DOUBLED their wealth! Who? And how?

The already-rich THRIVED during the pandemic! According to Oxfam’s chief executive, "there's been a new billionaire created almost every day during this pandemic, meanwhile 99% of the world's population are worse off…”

And if you were already a billionaire, it was even better for you.

The top ten richest men in the world were able to collectively bring their wealth to $1.5 trillion – on the backs of exploited workers.

Elon Musk increased his net worth by 1,000% while also forcing his employees to work during holidays and risking employees’ health with COVID-19 exposure. Jeff Bezos made $86 billion – but his workers are still struggling for dignity.

While we continue to struggle with this global crisis, the wealthy exercised their privilege and became even richer. This shows the true nature of our economic system – and whose success it’s built to prioritize.
