You’re eager to stay on top of your personal finances, making sure to organize paperwork and schedule time to take care of important tasks. But have you made sure to pencil in these important 2021 dates and deadlines?

February 15th

By this date, you should have received ALL of your important tax forms – such as W-2s, 1099s for the self-employed or freelance worker, and interest and dividend statements. Your priority in the month of February is to keep them filed away in a safe, convenient location for when it’s time to file your income taxes – which you can start doing as early as February 12th!

March 31st

If you have Medicare, remember that March 31 is the last day to apply for Parts A and B for coverage that begins in July.

April 15th

Tax Day is the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) deadline to file your individual, household, and business income taxes for the previous calendar year – as well as the last opportunity to make contributions to your individual retirement account, health savings account, or to file an extension if needed.

If you’re self-employed and pay your taxes on a quarterly basis, mark down the 15th of January, April, July, AND September to submit your taxes!

June 30th

Applying to college or have a college student in your family? This is the FAFSA Filing Deadline, and you need to do it EVERY year!

Remembering these dates and others are crucial for personal finance success no matter your job or income level. Stay on top of these responsibilities to thrive financially all year long!
