December 17, 2018 was a victorious and humbling day for New Orleans-based makeup mogul, Raynell Steward. When she hosted her first #NolaChristmas toy giveaway at the Mercedes Benz Superdome, she did what some said was impossible.

She broke a Guinness World Record for the number of toys given away in 1 hour!

Steward collected 5,019 toys in just one hour, breaking the previous record of 3,000 toys in Hong Kong.

But Steward’s giving spirit didn’t end there. She continued to spread joy by giving the remaining toys to all the volunteers at the event!

To recognize her achievement, the New Orleans Police Department honored her with a plaque. In response, she posted a funny Instagram caption: “Police never ga[v]e me nothing but charges so you know I’m bucked.”

Raynell Steward reached an incredible level of success with her thriving Crayon Case line and other business ventures. Instead of turning her back on the community, she gave back and continued to stay connected. Now, that’s the kind of Santa Claus we all need!
