In 2020, a lot of people lost money because pandemic-related shutdowns prevented air travel. With the world reopening, more travelers are purchasing travel insurance

But Denise wasn’t so sure it was worth it.

She really didn't want to waste money, so she researched the pros and cons. It turns out, travel insurance can be a great idea. But like most things, there’s a catch – a big one.

When the pandemic first started, many flights were canceled. But many people didn’t get their tickets refunded, even though they had travel insurance!

Travel insurance doesn’t cover EVERY situation. So when DOES it work?

Travel insurance typically covers flight cancellations, medical emergencies, or severe injuries – but not pandemics or bad weather.

Depending on the airline, you might get a full refund if you initiate it within a small window after your purchase. So travel insurance could be a great choice if you want to lock in a good price but need extra time to decide on your trip.

In order to ensure a stress-free getaway, we have to make the best decisions for our planning process – whether that means buying travel insurance or taking the risks.

Purchasing trip protection might not always get you a refund – but it could offer peace of mind.
