The Muse suggests that, when it comes to a job interview, “it’s important to go in with some questions to ask of your own. What do you want to know about the position? The company? The department? The team?”

Try asking these specific questions. It’ll impress your interviewer – and give you helpful insight into company culture before the interview is through.

Question 1: What are the company’s values? What characteristics do you look for in employees in order to represent those values?

Pay attention to how the interviewer responds to this question – and reply with examples of how you’ve exhibited these specific values in past work experiences.

Question 2: What does success look like in this position, and how do you measure it?

Of course you want to do a great job. But what does that look like? Asking this question will give you great insight into what achievement looks like in the role you’re interviewing for.

Question 3: Is there anything about my background or resume that makes you question whether I am a good fit for this role?

This is a fantastic way to decipher whether there are areas of weakness you can better explain so that there is no doubt you’re the best candidate.

Ask these questions and you’re sure to leave with a confident outlook on whether this role, team, and company syncs up with your professional aspirations!
